If you want to run a hatchery, you have to register with the competent authority in some federal states upon application.

"This administrative service is not offered in Rhineland-Palatinate. You can find out whether you can claim this in other federal states when you enter the location in which you would like to claim the benefit in the Bürger- und Unternehmensservice Rheinland-Pfalz."

If you want to run a farm whose activity is the laying of hatching eggs in incubators, the incubation of these eggs and the delivery of chicks, you must register with the competent authority upon application.

The following establishments must be registered:

• Hatcheries with a capacity of 1,000 or more hatching eggs
• Breeding and propagation holdings with 100 or more animals

Procedural fee

Apply to the competent authority for the registration of your hatchery using the prescribed form.

• The competent authority will examine your application and you will receive a written notification of the result.
• When you register, your company will be assigned an identification number.

Registration: before commencing activity

The identification number may be withdrawn from any establishment that does not comply with the provisions of the Regulation.
