Rundfunkveranstalter bundesweite Zulassung beantragen

The organisation of broadcasting as a nationwide offer requires approval. All necessary information can be found below.

Anyone wishing to operate as a broadcaster in Rhineland-Palatinate and intends to distribute programmes nationwide requires the approval of the state authority in which the registered office is located.

Authorisation shall not be transferable and shall be granted for:

• the type of broadcasting service (radio, television),
• the type of programme,
• the duration of the programme,
• the transmission techniques
• the area of distribution,
• the applicant's shareholding, and
• Program Scheme

• written request
• the name and address of the applicant,
• Program Content
• Program category (full or special-interest program)
• Programme;

If necessary, the competent state media authority must request further information and the submission of further documents.

An authorisation may only be granted to a natural or legal person who:

• has unlimited legal capacity,
• has not lost the ability to hold public office by judgement,
• the fundamental right to freedom of expression is violated,
• is not prohibited as an association,
• has its domicile or registered office in the Federal Republic of Germany, another Member State of the European Union or another state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area and can be prosecuted,
• guarantees that it organises broadcasting in compliance with the statutory provisions and the administrative acts adopted on that basis.

The costs depend on the type and scope of the broadcasting event.

Admission must be applied for in writing at the Medienanstalt Rheinland-Pfalz.

Any planned change in shareholdings or other influences must be notified in writing to Medienanstalt RLP prior to its implementation.

You can appeal against negative decisions.
