Many health care professionals such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy and podiatry etc. decide to have their own practice.

If you want to work as a doctor, you must first be licensed yourself. This is done by the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians.

The following applies to all professional groups in the healthcare sector: If you wish to practice your profession independently, you must register this with the competent health authority. In the future, you will also have to announce all changes to your practice in a timely manner.

• Your personal data, such as name, address, etc.
• State examination, professional license, permission to use the professional title
• Academic degrees and titles conferred

In addition, you must provide information on the area in which you would like to carry out the activity and when you would like to start working independently.

Many municipalities offer forms that you can use to register.

• You have taken out professional indemnity insurance before you start working

You must register within one month.

The changes must also be notified within one month.

As a rule, the exercise of the activity in a health profession is carried out on a freelance basis.

At the same time, however, a practice also means starting a business. Therefore, you should note that under certain conditions, a business registration may be required.
