Deutschlandstipendium beantragen

Students of all nationalities can apply for a Deutschlandstipendium. The scholarship is intended in particular for talented and high-achieving applicants, but also for students in advanced semesters.

In addition to academic achievements, social and societal commitment as well as special personal achievements are also taken into account.

The scholarship is paid independently of other benefits, such as BAföG or parental income. In contrast to other benefits, the scholarship does not have to be repaid. Scholarship holders are supported with a monthly contribution of 300.00 euros.

The scholarship is financed in equal parts by funds from the federal government and private sponsors, particularly from the private sector.

• a letter of motivation of max. 2 pages,
• a curriculum vitae in tabular form,
• the certificate of university entrance qualification, in the case of foreign certificates a conversion into the German grading system,
• Proof of academic achievements, if already provided,
• a certificate of enrollment, if already issued,
• for applicants for a place on a Master's degree course, the certificate of a first university degree and, if applicable, other certificates of achievement in accordance with the admission and selection regulations for the Master's degree course,
• If applicable, proof of a special qualification that entitles the applicant to study the respective degree program,
• If applicable, internship and work references as well as proof of special awards and prizes, other knowledge and further commitment,
• if applicable, a declaration of special social, family or personal circumstances

They perform outstandingly in their training and are particularly socially committed.

Among other things, the following will be taken into account

• Your grades from your university entrance qualification or achievements already made in your studies
• Your involvement in clubs, politics or church
• Your private environment, such as particular biographical obstacles, raising your own children or caring for relatives, as well as your involvement in your parents' business

When awarding the Deutschlandstipendium, it is not only your academic achievements that count, your entire personality should be taken into account.

If you have not yet received any material support from a scholarship organization that exceeds 30.00 euros per month, you can apply for the Deutschlandstipendium.

There are no fees.

• A selection committee from your university or state-recognized educational institution decides on the awarding of scholarships.
• The committee is made up of employees of the university itself and - if provided for by the university - sponsors of the scholarship from the private sector.
• If the scholarship is approved, you will receive funding for two semesters. The university will then check again whether the requirements for the scholarship are still met and whether the scholarship can be extended - ideally until the end of the standard period of study. However, there is no legal entitlement to a scholarship or its continued payment.

The application deadlines are set by the respective universities and can be obtained from them.
