In order to study at a university and become a member of the university, you enrol (enrolment).
In order to accept a study place after a successful application, enrol personally at your university within the required deadline and with the required documents.
In addition to the enrolment application, the university may request further documents, such as:
- Note of authorization
- valid identity card or passport
- completed declaration that the study place will be accepted
- Original or certified copy of the university entrance qualification
- Birth certificate, marriage certificate if applicable
- Study book with exmatriculation note, if enrollment took place at another university
- Proof of student health insurance and long-term care insurance
- Receipts for paid Studentenwerk fees (This may also be paid in cash on site.)
- Photograph
- Curriculum vitae
- in the case of underage applicants, the approval of the legal guardian
This can vary from university to university. Please note the respective requirements.
In order to study at a university in Rhineland-Palatinate, you usually have to meet the following requirements:
University:
- Higher education entrance qualification or
- a master craftsman's examination or comparable examination, or
- Persons who have completed vocational training with qualified results receive a subject-specific university entrance qualification
Universities of Applied Sciences:
- Higher education entrance qualification or advanced technical college entrance qualification or
- a master craftsman's examination or comparable examination, or
- Persons who have completed vocational training with qualified results
- Timely written acceptance of the study place
There are semester fees every semester. The amount of the semester fee varies between the universities.
After a successful application for a study place, you will receive a letter of admission from the university concerned. Enrolment and thus admission to the university will then take place within a period of time at your request.
Please always note the information, required documents and deadlines of the respective university for the respective degree programs.
The application and enrolment deadlines can be found on the websites of the universities. These are binding. Please note that you usually lose your admission to study if the re-registration deadlines expire.
You have the possibility to withdraw from an enrolment / enrolment within certain deadlines upon request. If you withdraw within the stipulated period, you will be deemed not to be registered.
Students enrol in the Registrar's Office of the respective university for the chosen course of study.
Applications or forms can be found on the homepage of the respective university, or will be sent to you after successful application (degree programmes with restricted admission).
