The register of associations is public and its purpose is to make the actual and legal circumstances of the registered association (e. V.) ascertainable for third parties at any time. By inspecting the register of associations, you can find out, for example, who represents an association externally as a board member. The name, the registered office of the association and the date on which the articles of association were drawn up are also entered.
There are no special requirements for inspecting the register of associations. However, services such as electronic document retrieval or the provision of copies are subject to a fee in some cases

- uncertified copy from the register of associations: EUR 10.00
- Certified copy: EUR 20.00
- Retrieval fee for a document at www.handelsregister.de depending on the type of document between EUR 0.00 and EUR 4.50
Anyone is permitted to inspect the register of associations.
Electronic access is available nationwide via the joint register portal of the federal states. Here you can search for registered associations by entering keywords. Various documents are regularly offered as a result of the search.
Note: However, downloading most of the documents offered is subject to a fee and requires registration as a user.
You can still view the register of associations during business hours at the registry court and have a printout produced there for a fee.
If you have Internet access, you can access the joint register portal of the federal states online yourself. Otherwise, you can contact the competent register court at the local court.
