Swiss nationals and their family members must personally report their stay to the immigration authorities within 3 months of entering the country.
The foreigners authority will check whether there is a right to freedom of movement.
If a right to freedom of movement exists, the Swiss residence permit will be issued in accordance with the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation of June 21, 1999.

• valid passport or ID card for Swiss nationals
• Valid passport for family members of the Swiss national
• 1 recent biometric photo, 35mm x 45mm, light background
• Swiss nationals must provide proof of their right to freedom of movement
• Employees must present their employment contract
• Self-employed persons must present their business registration
• Freelancers must present their trade tax number from the tax office
• Students must present their university admission or enrollment certificate
• Family members require proof of their relationship to the Swiss national, e.g. birth certificate, marriage certificate, registered same-sex partnership

Swiss nationals 8 to 28.80 EUR.
Family members from third countries EUR 50 to 110.

The responsibility lies with the foreigners authority of the district administration and the city administration of the independent city.
