Are you worried about an Islamist radicalisation of your child, pupil or friend? The "Radicalisation" counselling centre at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees is a first point of contact for parents, relatives, teachers and friends seeking advice who have the impression that a close young person is turning to a radical Islamist group. You can reach the counselling centre team at (0911) 943 43 43.
Advice is available in German, Arabic, English, French, Turkish, Uzbek, Persian or Russian. It is confidential and free of charge.
The aim of the counselling is to help you to assess the situation correctly and – if there is a risk of radicalisation – to bring your child, pupil or friend out of the radicalisation spiral and back into the family, class and circle of friends.
The staff of the Counselling Centre "Radicalisation"
- listen, answer your questions and give an initial overview of the problem,
- decide together with you on the next steps,
- inform you about other offers of help in your area,
- If you wish, you can arrange a local contact person who will advise you individually and accompany you with practical tips on how to deal with your child, friend or student,
- establish direct contact with specialists in all areas,
(These are experienced experts in the field of social pedagogy, extremism prevention, psychology, Islamic studies, etc.) - provide contact with other affected people in a similar situation and with self-help initiatives.
If you call from a landline, the local telephone charges apply. The cost of calls from mobile networks may differ.

If, however, it turns out in the course of the counselling process that your child, friend or student poses a danger to others, we must inform the security authorities – if you have not already contacted them. This is the exceptional case and only happens after all the information has been checked very carefully.
