You have a disability and would like to use barrier-free toilets? The "Club Behinderter und ihrer Freunde e.V." (CBF) In 1986, Darmstadt developed a concept for a uniform key for disabled toilets at motorway service stations, in cities, in universities, at railway stations and in many other buildings. The club sells the so-called Euro toilet key in Germany and other European countries. It can be used at over 12,000 locations (as of 2017). A list of the corresponding toilet facilities is available at "Der Locus". The CBF is careful that the key is only handed out to people who are dependent on disabled toilets. In addition, the key can be used nationwide for the use of numerous barrier-free entrances, stair lifts, etc. can be used to guarantee people with disabilities as independent a life as possible in everyday life.
People who can usually obtain a universal key are:
- Blind and visually impaired
- severely handicapped persons
- Wheelchair user
- Stoma carrier
- Severely disabled persons who are in need of assistance and may need an assistant
- Multiple sclerosis sufferers
- Crohn's disease sufferers
- Ulcerative colitis sufferers
- People with chronic bladder/bowel disorders
Copy of the severely disabled person's pass or alternatively medical certificate.
The German severely disabled person's pass is considered an entitlement to earn a living if
- the mark: aG, B, H, or BL
- or the mark G and a GdB of 70% upwards
is included.
Other persons who are dependent on barrier-free toilets, e.g. people with chronic bladder or bowel diseases, are also entitled to receive them.
The cost of the key is 23,00 Euro. If you want to obtain the key with the directory "Der Locus" via the locations of the corresponding toilet facilities, the costs amount to a total of 30.00 euros. The plant directory "Der Locus" costs 8.00 euros individually.

- Send you a copy of your disability pass (front and back) by post, fax or e-mail.
- As an alternative to the ID, it is sufficient for people with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis to send a medical opinion.
- This is followed by checking your data to see if you are eligible for a key.
- The key will be sent to you by post.
- Payment is made after successful verification and approval by cash on delivery upon delivery of the key or on account.
