If you need information on specific companies, you can search for them in the Joint Register Portal of the federal states or in the business register itself and view the entries and submitted documents.

You can view the commercial registers online via the "Common Register Portal of the Federal States". Here you will find information about

• Corporations, for example limited liability companies (GmbH), stock corporations (AG), partnerships limited by shares (KGaA)
• Commercial partnerships, for example general partnerships (OHG), limited partnerships (KG)
• Sole traders (e.K.)

The Joint Commercial Register Portal of the federal states provides information on facts and legal relationships that are important for legal transactions in connection with companies registered there. For example, the commercial register contains the names of persons who are authorized to represent a company in business transactions.

You can view information free of charge in the Joint Commercial Register Portal of the federal states. You can also, free of charge

• view the submitted documents,
• download a printout as a PDF.

The commercial register can also be viewed via the company register introduced on 01.01.2007. In addition to the data from the commercial register, further information such as annual financial statements of corporations or company announcements are published in the company register.

There are no costs.

• Call up the joint register portal of the federal states.
• Click on either "Normal search" or "Advanced search" in the menu and enter the relevant keywords and data.
• Click on "Search".
• The entries you are looking for will now be displayed and you can retrieve documents.
• Select the desired document

• In the quick search, enter the company name you are looking for and optionally a sector.
• The entries you are looking for will now be displayed.
