You can renounce your license to practice medicine by submitting a written declaration to the competent authority ("return"). One reason for such a step may be that you wish to take up another profession (e.g. after a second degree) or you no longer wish to practise the profession, e.g. for reasons of age.
By giving up your license to practice, you give up both the right to practice the profession and the right to use the respective professional title.

- Written declaration of renunciation with the exact date on which the renunciation of the license to practice medicine is to take effect
- The date must not be in the past. A retroactive waiver is not possible.
You send the original of your license to practice medicine and a written declaration of renunciation to the competent authority.
The licensing certificate will be marked as invalid by the authority and then returned to the holder of the certificate.
