Registered EMAS establishments may obtain the certificate if the environmental declaration or the environmental audit report shows that the above conditions are met and that the following information can be seen:

• Name and registered office of the company
• Designation of the site as well as the certified activities in relation to the site and its facilities
• Name of the authority (competent body), date and signature

The cost of certification depends on the time required, in accordance with the general administrative cost regulations in conjunction with the management cost regulations of the business unit.

The processing will be carried out promptly after receipt of your application.

Since 5 July 2009, all companies carrying out installation, maintenance and repair ranges on refrigeration and air conditioning systems as well as heat pumps and fire protection systems require certification.

An appeal against a negative or restrictive decision may be lodged with the competent authority in writing or orally within one month of notification.

The certification process is carried out by the Structural and Approval Directorates North (SGD Nord) and South (SGD Süd), in whose district the company is headquartered.
