If you appoint a radiation protection officer for your company, you must notify the competent authority.

The competent authority must be notified immediately in writing of the appointment of a radiation protection officer within the scope of a radiation protection license.

The following must also be notified:

• Changes in duties and powers and
• the resignation of the radiation protection commissioner from his/her function.

• Evidence of specialist knowledge required for the respective field of application,
• certificate of good conduct of document type "O
• Letter of appointment with details of duties, powers and scope of decision-making or letter of dismissal
• Approbation (for medical applications)

The appointment as radiation protection officer within the scope of radiation protection licenses must be made in writing by the person responsible for radiation protection and must be accompanied by documentation.

There are no fees to pay.

After notification, the submitted documents are checked for completeness in terms of content and subject matter. If documents or information are missing, they will be requested by the authority. If all documents or information are available, you will receive a decision in the form of a confirmation letter. If there are reasons for not confirming the appointment, you will receive a notice stating that the person to be appointed is not to be regarded as a radiation protection officer.

Appointment, changes in the scope of duties or decision-making, or departure of a radiation protection officer under a radiation protection license must be reported immediately.

• Appointment, dismissal or change of the scope of decision of radiation protection officers within the framework of radiation protection licenses
