You must apply for an exemption permit to burn small fireworks outside of the yearly wassail.

On 31.12. and 1.1. of a year you are allowed to burn pyrotechnic objects of the category F2 (fireworks with low danger, only usable outdoors) without a special official permit. During the rest of the year, only holders of an explosives permit or a certificate of competence are allowed to do so.

If you want to burn small fireworks with pyrotechnic objects of category 2 in the period from January 2 to December 30 without being a permit or certificate holder, you need an exceptional permit. The competent authority can grant you this.

• Name and address of the applicant
• Detailed justification
• Specification of the exact location, date and time with start and end of the fireworks display
• Indication of the pyrotechnic articles to be burned (exact extent) Distances to particularly sensitive buildings and installations, etc.
• Proof of liability insurance for the performer covering the risk of damage caused by the fireworks (confirmation from the insurance company).
• Approval of the responsible regulatory authority for the burning of the fireworks display

You must be at least 18 years old to handle pyrotechnic objects of category F2.

The issuance of a special permit is subject to a fee. The fees are determined in accordance with the applicable schedule of fees or costs.

The application must be received by the responsible office at least two weeks before the event.

It is forbidden to burn pyrotechnic objects in the immediate vicinity of churches, hospitals, children's and old people's homes, thatched and half-timbered houses and particularly (fire) endangered objects.
