If you, as the holder of a permit or certificate of competence, wish to burn pyrotechnic articles in accordance with § 23 of the 1st Explosives Ordinance, you must notify the competent authority.
The obligation to notify applies to
- pyrotechnic articles of category 2 in the period from January 2 to December 30,
- pyrotechnic articles of categories 3, 4, P1, P2, T1 and T2 throughout the year.
- Permit according to § 7 SprenG
- Certificate of competence according to § 20 SprenG
- Current site plan with scale indication, in which the place for setting up and loading as well as the protective distance are marked (if necessary indication of the height of the burning place above ground level)
The notification must be received by the competent authority in good time, at the latest 14 days before the intended burning date. For the planned burning in the immediate vicinity of railroad facilities, airports or federal waterways that are shipping lanes, the notification must be received at least four weeks in advance.
There are restrictions for certain burning locations and burning areas. Information on this can be obtained from the responsible office.
