If you want to control pests with poisons professionally, you may not just do it, but you must first inform the authorities who are responsible for this.
You may only carry out commercial pest control if you have provided the competent authority with proof of your expertise, among other things. For example, a person who has passed the recognized examination for "Certified Pest Controller" or the examination for assistant pest controller or master pest controller is considered to be competent.
The authority issues a certificate of competence for the respective activity. For this purpose, evidence must be provided that the personnel requirements for pest control are met.
- Proof of expertise: A person is deemed to be competent if he or she regularly undergoes further training and has
- passed the examination in accordance with the Ordinance on the Examination for the Recognized Qualification "Certified Pest Controller" or
- passed the examination for assistant or master pest controller in accordance with the law no longer in force in the old Federal States or in accordance with the law of the former GDR, or
- has demonstrably acquired comparable expertise in a Member State of the European Communities.
- Competent persons are also those who have passed an examination or successfully completed training that has been recognized by the competent authority as equivalent to the above-mentioned examinations.

- A person who has passed an examination or successfully completed training recognized by the competent authority as equivalent to the above-mentioned examinations is also deemed to have expert knowledge.
In the context of a training course, there is no cost for the certificate of competence. If the training takes place privately, the costs depend on the provider of the courses. These usually include the examination fees incurred.
Processing will be carried out promptly after receipt of the application for a certificate.
Pest control must be carried out in such a way that humans and the environment are not endangered.
