As an out-of-town service provider, you can be registered in the special directory for out-of-town service providers of the Chamber of Architects Thruringia.

If you do not have your main residence, a professional establishment or the place of your predominant professional activity in Germany and you move to Thuringia for the temporary or occasional provision of services in the field of architecture, interior design, landscape architecture or urban planning (external service providers), you must notify the Thuringian Chamber of Architects in writing in advance of your first activity in Thuringia.

In order to be entitled to use the protected professional titles "Architect", "Interior Architect", "Landscape Architect" or "Urban Planner", including combinations thereof, or similar professional titles, you must be entered in the special register for non-residents. The registration committee of the Chamber of Architects decides on the registration.

Upon application, you will be issued a certificate, limited to one year, stating that you are entitled to use the protected professional title.

Registration does not establish membership in the Chamber of Architects of Thuringia or in a pension fund or other institution.

However, you are obliged to observe the professional duties (§ 32 ThürAIKG).

As an out-of-town service provider, you must submit the following documents along with the advertisement:

• Proof of your professional qualification
• in the case of intended self-employment, proof of the existence of adequate professional liability insurance.

As a rule, copies of all documents and certificates must be submitted.

Translations in German of all documents and certificates must be submitted, which have been prepared by a publicly appointed or sworn interpreter or translator.

There are no fees to pay.

Upon receipt of your notification, you will receive an acknowledgement of receipt, further instructions if applicable, and the anticipated meeting date at which the Registration Committee will hear your registration.

The Chamber will confirm receipt of the notification within one month and inform you if the documents to be submitted are incomplete, which documents are still missing and must be submitted subsequently.

No deadlines need to be observed.

Before filing an administrative court action against a decision of the registration committee at the Chamber of Architects, there is no need for a review in preliminary proceedings (opposition proceedings).
