Handwerksrolle: Eintragung in das Verzeichnis zulassungspflichtiger Handwerke (Anlage A der Handwerksordnung)

The Handicrafts Register is the list of trades that can be operated as crafts subject to licensing (Annex A to the Handicrafts Code). Only natural persons, legal entities and partnerships entered in the Handicrafts Register are permitted to independently operate a craft subject to licensing as a standing trade. Registration in the Handicrafts Register is thus the operating permit for the operation of a craft subject to licensing.
In order to be registered in the register of skilled crafts, an application must be submitted and the legally required qualifications must be proven (leaflet on registration in the register of skilled crafts subject to licensing - register of skilled crafts - of Annex A to the Crafts Code). The Chamber of Crafts issues a crafts card as a certificate of registration in the register of crafts. The registration is subject to a fee.

• Application for registration / amendment / extension in the register of trades subject to registration, trades not subject to registration, trades similar to trades (completed and signed)
• Current excerpt from the commercial register (only for companies registered in the commercial register)
• declaration of employment of a manager (in case of employment of a manager of a craft enterprise)
• Employment contract with the craftsman manager (in the case of hiring a craftsman manager)
• Proof of professional qualification (e.g. journeyman's certificate, master craftsman's certificate, specialist or university degree or certificate in accordance with §§ 7a, 7b, 8 or 9 of the Crafts Code)
• Identity card
• valid residence permit for citizens from other European countries
• for exemption procedures according to § 7a, 7b, § 8 or § 9 of the Crafts Code, if necessary, additional documents in consultation with the staff of the Crafts Register

The fees are regulated by the fee schedule of the responsible Chamber of Crafts.

The Crafts Code provides for various exemptions for registration in the Crafts Register. The decision on whether to grant these exemptions is made by the relevant Chamber of Crafts. These are tied to specific requirements, about which the staff of the Handwerksrolle will advise you.
