Recognition as a testing expert for technical systems and equipment is only granted to applicants who meet and can provide evidence of the general requirements as well as the special requirements for this specialist area. In addition to proof of a suitable university degree and sufficiently long professional and testing experience, a specialist assessment is carried out, which includes a written and an oral examination.

• Curriculum vitae
• Copy of diplomas and certificates of competency
• Proof of application for a certificate of good conduct for submission to a public authority (document type O or P)
• Information on branch offices and participation in companies
• Proof of professional experience and participation in examinations

- Completion of an engineering degree at a German university or an equivalent degree at a foreign university or at another equivalent foreign institution

- At least five years of practical experience as an engineer in the field in which recognition is sought, including at least two years of participation in examinations.

- Proof of special expertise in the field applied for (to be provided in the course of the recognition procedure by means of an expert opinion)

What are the fees? 200 - 300 € per specialty (not including the costs of the expert review by the expert reviewing body).

The processing time depends on the examination dates of the expert reviewing bodies.

Registration is possible at any time. The exams take place about 1 to 2 times a year.

Recognition can be applied for the following specialties:

• Ventilation systems,
• CO warning systems,
• smoke and heat extraction systems,
• Pressurized ventilation systems
• fire extinguishing systems,
• fire detection and alarm systems,
• security power supplies.
