If you wish to provide legal services in the following areas, you must register with the relevant authority.

• Collection services
• Pension consulting services in the field of statutory pension and accident insurance, social compensation law, other social insurance law and law on severely disabled persons with reference to a statutory pension as well as occupational and professional pension schemes,
• legal services in a foreign law; if the foreign law is the law of a member state of the European Union or of another state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, advice may also be given in the field of the law of the European Union and the law of the European Economic Area.

• summary of professional training and previous professional experience,
• Certificate of good conduct in accordance with Section 30 (5) of the Federal Central Register Act,
• Declaration as to whether insolvency proceedings are pending or whether an entry has been made in a debtors' register (Section 26 (2) of the Insolvency Code, Section 915 of the Code of Civil Procedure) in the three years preceding the application,
• Statement as to whether, in the last three years prior to the submission of the application, a registration or an admission to the legal profession has been refused, withdrawn or revoked, or a disbarment has occurred, and, if this is the case, a copy of the decision,
• documents proving theoretical and practical expertise,
• proof of professional liability insurance

• They require proof of special expertise in the relevant areas of law.
• Natural and legal persons as well as companies without legal personality can be registered. The application can be limited to one or more of the above-mentioned sub-areas.
• Registration may be made subject to conditions or requirements if this is necessary for the protection of legal practitioners or legal transactions.

Permits to provide legal services to third parties under the former Legal Services Act (Alterlaubnisse) expired on January 1, 2009, unless you submitted an "Application for Registration under the Legal Services Act for Alterlaubnis Holders" by December 31, 2008 at the latest.

Anyone established in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the purpose of practicing a profession related to the provision of legal services may, under certain conditions, temporarily and occasionally practice this profession in Germany.

The application for a judicial decision on the administrative acts of the President of the Regional Court shall be addressed to the Thuringian Higher Regional Court.
