In cooperation with day care centers and schools, it is the task of the municipal health offices to support and promote the health of children and adolescents.
The task of the counties and independent cities is to protect and promote the health of children and adolescents. To this end, they work together with daycare facilities for children and with schools.
The scope of duties includes
- School entrance examinations,
- Preventive checkups in daycare centers and schools
- Preventive dental checkups in daycare centers and schools, implementation of dental prophylaxis measures
- Information, counseling and education about health hazards or health-promoting behaviors,
- Implementation of vaccination counseling and vaccination campaigns,
- Individual case consultations for students and teachers,
- disability counseling,
- Conducting consultation hours for children with their guardians.

- The municipalities support the health of children and adolescents with various measures (e.g., school entrance examinations, advice and implementation of vaccinations, dental check-ups).
