If you wish to obtain a resident parking permit, then you must apply for it at the appropriate authority.

If you are registered with your main or secondary residence in a resident parking area, you can apply for a resident parking permit for your car or motorcycle.

• Registration certificate I (old: vehicle registration document)

• if the application is made by a representative, a power of attorney is required
• return of the previous resident parking permit in case of renewal

Further documents may be required.

• You are registered with the registration office in the residents' parking area and you actually live there
• there is no private parking space available
• the vehicle is registered to you or you use the vehicle permanently
• Owners of a vehicle with foreign or foreign license plates are obliged to register their vehicle at their main residence according to § 46 FZV.

In some cities and municipalities, you can also apply for a resident parking permit in writing or electronically. In these cases, you will receive the parking permit by mail. Ask your city or municipal administration what documents you need to send in this case.

• The resident parking permit does not guarantee a fixed parking space.
• The parking permit can be valid either only at certain times or around the clock.

• As a resident, you can apply for a resident parking permit for your car or motorcycle or a motor vehicle that you use permanently. The resident parking permit is only valid for a specially designated zone (resident parking area).
