A technical on-site inspection precedes the granting of the building permit and its extension.

The periods until the necessary extension vary according to the potential risk and are between one and five years.

When the building permit is granted, the issuing authority prepares an inspection log for the temporary structure. In addition to technical documents, it contains the construction permit, its extensions and, if necessary, the required conditions.

The erection of the temporary structure must be reported to the responsible lower building supervisory authority and the inspection logbook must be submitted.

This authority decides on a prior acceptance of use.

The work permit is valid for between one and five years, depending on the type of installation and design. It can be extended by the relevant period upon request.

The execution permit is entered in an inspection logbook. The building documents with the approval note must be attached to the inspection logbook.
Construction permits from other federal states are also valid in the Free State of Thuringia.
