The funding provides scientific support and thus unlocks the potential to further strengthen Thuringia's innovative power.

The Free State of Thuringia supports scientific research institutions in Thuringia with scientific research projects and equipment for research projects.

Eligible expenses are

• Personnel expenses
• material expenses
• External services
• Capital expenditure for project-specific equipment infrastructure

You will receive the funding as a grant: For equipment, the grants amount to 90 percent of the recognized eligible expenditure and for scientific research projects up to 100 percent.

No funding is provided below a threshold value of EUR 5,000.

The grant is awarded on application.

Applications for a grant must be submitted electronically to the Thüringer Aufbaubank (TAB) via the online portal https://thueringer-foerderportal.eu using the forms provided.

In addition, the written application must be submitted to the TAB if the electronic form does not replace the written form.

The following digital options are available to replace the written form: Use of a qualified electronic signature, use of an application with a substantial level of confidence.

The prerequisite for funding is successful participation in a competition.

• The deadlines of the competition call must be observed.
• The project may only be started after receipt of the grant notification.
