If you are affected by a floodplain designation procedure, you can submit comments and objections.

The designation of the floodplain covers all areas which, due to their location, are statistically inundated once every hundred years by flooding of the corresponding watercourse.

A floodplain is determined on the basis of a technical calculation after all comments and objections received have been examined.

The hydraulic calculation takes into account the expected flood discharge, the terrain and other influencing factors.

Various protective regulations and prohibitions apply in a floodplain.

You have the opportunity to submit your comments, concerns and questions within the procedure for determining the floodplain.

As part of the procedure for establishing a floodplain, the following draft documents will be made available in the towns, municipalities and administrative communities concerned:

• Texts of the ordinance
• Parcel-specific maps in A1 format

You will be informed of the opening times and locations in good time in the relevant official gazette or by means of a public notice.

It is also possible to view the documents on the homepage of the Thuringian State Office for the Environment, Mining and Nature Conservation. The corresponding link will be published in the announcement text.

After viewing the documents, you have the opportunity to submit your comments and objections in writing, verbally for the record or online.

If you would like to submit your objection online, please use the input option provided. Please answer all the necessary questions carefully so that your comments can be assigned to the correct location, for example. Uploading additional documents, for example photos of actual flood events, may facilitate or underline your textual comments.

The review of all comments and objections received may take some time. A specific time period cannot be specified.

You will receive confirmation of receipt. If necessary, the responsible authority will contact you with further questions.

You can raise objections up to one month after the end of the exhibition.
