If you want to improve your company's presence on international markets, you can receive a grant under certain conditions.

The Free State of Thuringia promotes measures by companies to open up sales markets abroad.

They receive funding for

• participation in trade fairs at home and abroad and
• the initiation of contacts with business partners or potential customers abroad.

You receive the funding as a subsidy

• for participation in trade fairs. The expenses for stand rental and stand construction plus a lump sum of 10% of the expenses can be subsidized at a rate of up to 50%. The maximum grant amount is EUR 10,000.
• a one-off lump sum of EUR 1,600 for establishing contacts abroad.

• Completed application via the Thuringian funding portal (in writing, if the electronic form does not replace the written form, see guidelines for more details)
• The forms you need will be made available to you in the Thuringian funding portal
• Business registration

• Your company must be a small or medium-sized enterprise with its registered office or place of business in Thuringia that belongs to the manufacturing industry, the skilled trades or business-related services
• Large companies, business-related research institutions, business associations and networks can only be funded if their registered office and business premises are located in Thuringia and only as part of a joint stand listed in the trade fair program of the Thuringian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society.
• You may not sell products directly to end consumers at trade fairs unless you belong to the arts and crafts sector.
• Participation in trade fairs abroad can generally be funded
• Trade fairs in Germany must be marked with the AUMA category "international" or "international traveling" in the "AUMA Trade Fair Database Germany".
• However, as a craft enterprise or craft organization, you can also take part in trade fairs and consumer fairs with international participation.
• If you belong to the arts and crafts sector, you can also take part in consumer fairs without an international focus.
• Contacts must be initiated through recognized consultants or consulting companies listed on the Thüringer Aufbaubank website.
• You may not start the project before the application has been submitted.
• The application must be submitted 8 weeks before the start of the trade fair.
• Your project must not have been completed at the time of approval.
• If your company is in difficulties, you are excluded from funding.

• After submitting the application via the online portal, you may have to complete the application within the deadline set by the TAB.
• If all requirements are met, you will receive your grant notification.
• Once the project has been completed, you must submit a call-off application/proof of use via the online portal within 6 months. The required evidence is specified in the online portal and must be uploaded.
• After verification by the TAB, the corresponding recognized grant will be paid out.

For trade fair funding projects, you must submit the funding application with all required attachments via the Thuringian funding portal at least eight weeks before the start of the trade fair.

You may generally start foreign trade promotion projects at your own risk on the day after the application is received by the Thüringer Aufbaubank.

Your project must not have been completed by the time funding is approved.

For approved projects, you must submit proof of use within six months of the end of the project.

You have one month to lodge a complaint against the authority's decisions with the competent administrative court.

• Companies and craft businesses in Thuringia can apply for funding to take part in trade fairs and establish contacts with foreign business partners.
• Participation in trade fairs is funded on a pro rata basis (50%), the maximum grant amount is 10,000 euros.
