As a company, you can receive funding for investment projects to maintain and improve an attractive local public transport service in Thuringia.

The state of Thuringia supports you as a company in projects to maintain and qualify public transport services in Thuringia.

You can receive funding for projects in these areas:

• Increasing the level of accessibility,
• Improving passenger information,

You will receive the funding as a grant:

• Grant amount of up to 50 percent for the purchase of new barrier-free streetcar vehicles
• Grants of up to 75 percent for telematics projects in public transport

Funding is subject to certain conditions. Your project must:

• Be necessary to improve public transport,
• not conflict with local, regional and national transport planning and developments,
• be planned in accordance with the principles of economic efficiency and economy and be sound in terms of construction, traffic and system technology,
• have at least €5,000 (net) in eligible expenditure.

There are no costs.

The procedure is structured in two stages. After submitting your funding application to the Thuringian State Office for Construction and Transport and its decision on the inclusion of your project in the annual funding program, you must submit an application to the Thüringer Aufbaubank.

You must submit the application for funding to the Thüringer Aufbaubank (TAB) electronically via the online portal using the forms provided. In addition, the written application must be submitted to the TAB, unless the electronic form replaces the written form.

You must register projects for the annual investment program with the Thuringian State Office for Construction and Transport by 30 September of the year preceding the start of the project at the latest.
