§ 15 paragraph 1 - 3 and 5 Federal Hunting Act (BJagdG)

If you wish to hunt, you can obtain an annual hunting license from the competent authority under certain conditions.

If you want to hunt in Germany, you need a German hunting license in your name. If you want to hunt regularly, you can apply for an annual hunting license.

• physical fitness
• concluded hunting liability insurance
• passed hunter examination

You can submit the application in writing or online, if available.

If you submit the application in writing, fill it out and submit it by mail or in person to the competent authority.

The application and the evidence to be submitted will be checked for completeness and correctness.

If you meet all the requirements, you will be issued a hunting license.

The annual hunting license is valid for a maximum of three consecutive hunting years. The hunting year begins on 01.04. and ends on 31.03..
