The contractor and the traffic authority have at their disposal the guidelines for securing work sites on roads (RSA) as well as standard plans for all possible securing measures.

Already in the planning phase of the work site, the contractor has to check which traffic safety measures are necessary and appropriate on the basis of the special local conditions.

A written application for an order for the traffic safety measures must then be submitted to the traffic authority.

The road traffic authority examines the application and the documents submitted and hears the authorities to be involved (police and road construction authority).

If necessary, a site visit is carried out with all parties involved in order to agree on the necessary measures on site.

The necessary measures are then ordered by the road traffic authority vis-à-vis the contractor, who must carry out these measures.
