If you are severely disabled and have a parking permit, then you can have it renewed.

Severely disabled people can renew a parking permit.

Parking facilities can be granted to severely disabled persons with exceptional walking disabilities, bilateral amelia or phocomelia or with comparable functional limitations as well as to blind persons in the form of an EU parking permit ("blue parking permit").

Severely disabled persons who are equal to the above-mentioned group of persons (special groups of severely disabled persons) can be granted parking privileges limited to the federal territory ("orange parking permit").

The parking permit offers various special parking rights, e.g. free parking in areas managed for parking.

The parking permit is personal and may only be used in the presence of the authorized person or persons, regardless of the vehicle used.

You are a severely disabled person with an exceptional walking disability and have a driver's license or

You belong to one of the following groups of people:

blind people,

severely disabled persons with bilateral amelia or phocomelia or with comparable functional disorders, whereby the time limitations that require the operation of the parking disc do not apply, or

You belong to one of the following groups of persons:

severely disabled persons with the characteristic signs "G" and "B" and a degree of disability of at least 80 for functional disorders of the lower limbs alone (and the lumbar spine, insofar as these affect the ability to walk);

severely disabled persons with the signs "G" and "B" and a degree of disability of at least 70 for functional disorders of the lower limbs (and the lumbar spine, insofar as these affect the ability to walk) alone and at the same time a degree of disability of at least 50 for functional disorders of the heart or the respiratory organs;

severely disabled persons suffering from Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, if they have a degree of disability of at least 60;

severely disabled persons with an artificial bowel outlet and at the same time an artificial urinary diversion, if they have a degree of disability of at least 70.

The exemptions are valid for the whole of Germany.

The application for the extension of the exemption must be submitted to the locally responsible road traffic authority.
