Expertise in radiation protection is the necessary prerequisite for activities involving the handling of radioactive materials andionizing radiation.

The required expertise in radiation protection is mandatory for persons who are radiation protection officers for the respective field of application (e.g. handling radioactive substances, operating facilities for generating ionizing radiation, operating X-ray facilities for applications in the technical field and for medical physics - experts).

• Professional qualification (copy)
• Certificate of professional experience
• Certificate of participation in radiation protection courses (copy)

For certification of the acquisition of the required expertise in radiation protection, the following documents must be submitted:

1. Evidence of training suitable for the particular field of application,
2. proof of practical experience (expertise) and
3. Proof of successful participation in recognized radiation protection courses. The course attendance must not date back more than five years in total.

The costs are depending on the expertise between 25,00 and 250,00 €.

Participation in a radiation protection course for the acquisition of the technical qualification must not have taken place more than five years previously.
