Are you moving abroad? If you move out of your sole residence and do not move into another residence in the country, you must deregister.
If you move out of your sole residence and do not move into another residence in Germany, you must deregister. This is regularly the case if you move abroad.
If you move within Germany, you do not have to deregister. It is sufficient if you register with your new municipality.

- If electronic access has been set up by the registration office, you can also deregister electronically.
You have to deregister at the registration office within 2 weeks after moving out of the apartment. You can deregister already in the week before moving out of the apartment. In this case, the population register will only be updated on the date of the actual move-out.
