You are in possession of a residence permit for victims of a criminal offense pursuant to Sections 232 to 233a of the German Criminal Code (StGB) (trafficking in human beings). In principle, you have a right to be granted a residence permit.

You are still entitled to benefits according to the Second Social Security Code (SGB II - Grundsicherung für Arbeitssuchende) or basic benefits in old age or in case of reduced earning capacity, child benefits.

Family reunification for your spouse and minor child (the so-called nuclear family) is only possible for reasons of international law or humanitarian reasons or to protect the political interests of the Federal Republic of Germany. The residence permit is extended for two years. In justified individual cases, a longer period of validity is also permissible.
