You must apply for the extension of your driver's license for passenger transport for ambulances at the responsible driver's license authority.
The driver's license for passenger transport (FzF) for ambulances is issued for a maximum of five years and can be extended for up to five years upon application by the holder.
If the application is submitted after the expiry of the FzF, renewal is no longer possible. The issuance of a new FzF must be applied for.
- Photo ID (identity card or passport (if passport is presented: attach a current registration certificate from the registration office responsible for the main residence))
- EU/EEA driving license
- Certificate of good conduct for submission to an authority
- Current information from the driver suitability register
- Proof of physical and mental aptitude in accordance with the model in Annex 5 to the Driving License Ordinance. The proof must not be older than one year at the time of application.
- In the case of renewal beyond the age of 60: proof of the ability to cope with stress, orientation performance, concentration performance, attention performance and reaction capability) in accordance with No. 2 of Annex 5 to the Driving License Ordinance. The proof must not be older than one year at the time of application.
- Proof of compliance with the requirements for eyesight in accordance with No. 2 of Annex 6 to the Driving License Ordinance. An issued expert opinion/certificate is valid for 2 years.
