Fischerei Urlaubsfischereischein (Vierteljahresfischereischein in Thüringen) Erteilung und Verlängerung beantragen

Would you like to fish in Thuringia but do not have a fishing license or have not passed a fishing examination? Then you have the option of acquiring a quarterly fishing license without taking a fishing exam and applying to the relevant municipality.

If you want to go fishing, you need a fishing license (compulsory fishing license). This is issued by the municipality responsible for the place of residence upon application, provided that you have passed a fishing examination or there are circumstances that do not require you to take the fishing examination. In Thuringia, it is also possible to obtain a quarterly fishing license without having to pass a fishing examination. This only entitles you to fish with a hand-held fishing rod and can be obtained in the municipality in whose jurisdiction you wish to fish.

For fishing in the respective waters, you also need a fishing permit, which must be obtained from the fishing rights holder (owner of the fishing rights) or the tenant of the fishing rights of the water. Please enquire before purchasing the quarterly fishing license whether permits for the water are issued to holders of quarterly fishing licenses.

• According to § 29 Para. 2 No. 3 ThürFischG, no proof of successful completion of a fishing examination is required to apply for a quarterly fishing license.
• A quarterly fishing license can only be issued once per calendar year. Its period of validity cannot be extended.

• A fee and the fishing tax must be paid when purchasing a quarterly fishing license.
• The fee is € 10.00 (§ 37 Para. 1 No. 6 ThürFischAVO) and the fishing tax is € 15.00 (§ 37 Para. 2 No. 6 ThürFischAVO).

Fishing licenses are issued by the municipalities in accordance with the models specified by the Supreme Fishing Authority. The application for a fishing license - and thus also the quarterly fishing license - must therefore be submitted to the municipality

• in whose jurisdiction the applicant is resident (applies to persons resident in Thuringia) or
• in whose jurisdiction the applicant wishes to fish by hand (applies to persons residing outside Thuringia)
