If you want to upgrade unsightly areas in your town, reuse a brownfield site and need financial support for demolition, unsealing and the associated subsequent use, then apply for funding for the revitalization of brownfield sites.

If you need support for the revitalization of brownfield sites, you can apply for funding for corresponding measures. The standard funding rate is up to 60% of the eligible expenditure.

The amount of eligible expenditure is limited to 1 million euros per project.

You can receive funding as

• Municipalities,
• Natural persons and partnerships,
• legal entities under private law.

Funding is available in rural areas. This includes municipalities and districts with up to 10,000 inhabitants.

The application is free of charge.

The administrative procedure is divided into the areas of selection/application procedure, disbursement and verification of the use of funds, including award checks.

There is no application deadline. Applications can be submitted all year round.

To fully process and submit applications via the Portia online portal, it is necessary to register in the Portia service account with the online ID function. Further information can be found in the link below.

Up to and including 2025, applications can be submitted both via the Portia online portal and in paper form using the corresponding application form. Depending on which method was chosen for the application, this must be retained for the remainder of the measure.
