If you want to help shape the development of your region, if you have innovative project ideas for rural areas, or if you live in a rural area and are looking for funding for your small project, then apply for funding via the LEADER intervention.
You can receive support for projects in rural areas through the LEADER funding program. You must apply for this funding. According to the ILE funding guidelines, the standard funding rate for LEADER project funding is up to 65% of eligible expenditure; in exceptional cases, this may vary and be up to 80%. The regional action groups (RAGs) themselves determine the level of funding in their strategies.
What is funded?
- Preparatory costs (as part of an application to become a RAG during the recognition procedure at the beginning of a funding period)
- Projects to implement the regional development strategy
- Cross-regional and transnational cooperation
- Administration and awareness-raising
- Application form
- Please refer to the overview at the end of the application form to see which other attachments are required.
You can receive funding as
- Natural persons and partnerships,
- legal entities under public and private law,
- LEADER regional action groups.
Projects must correspond tothe objectives of the individual regional development strategy of the LEADER Regional Action Groups(RAG) and be selected by the RAG in a non-discriminatory and transparent procedure and the implementation decided.
The administrative procedure is divided into the areas of selection procedure/application procedure, disbursement and verification of the use of funds, including award checks.
A special feature of LEADER is that the projects to be funded are selected by the LEADER Regional Action Groups (RAG).
Project applications are first submitted by the applicant to the LEADER Regional Action Group (RAG)where they are pre-checked and voted on. If the application is approved, it is forwarded to the approval authority (TLLLR) for final processing after the RAG has completed the documents.
The deadline for submitting project applications is set individually by the LEADER Regional Action Groups (RAG) and announced publicly. The complete funding applications must then be submitted to the Thuringian State Office for Agriculture and Rural Areas by February 15 of the current year.
Registration in the Portia service account with the online ID function is required for the complete processing and submission of applications. Further information can be found below:
