• a copy of graduation and employment certificates,
• proof of application for a certificate of good conduct for submission to a public authority (document type O or P),

• about any participation in a company whose purpose is the planning or execution of construction projects,
• the municipality in which the applicant intends to do business as a test engineer,
• whether and how often the applicant has already undergone a recognition procedure as a test engineer/test expert for fire protection in another country without success,
• declaration that the professional activity is carried out on one's own responsibility in the sense of § 4 sentence 2 no. 1, 2 or 3 ThürPPVO and independently in the sense of § 4 sentence 3 ThürPPVO,
• proof of at least five years of experience in the fire protection planning and execution of buildings, in particular of special buildings of different types with a higher degree of fire protection difficulty or their inspection,
• a list of reference objects on the fire protection planning and execution of special buildings or their inspection, in which at least 10 (max. 15) construction projects are listed that have been worked on independently, including a brief description of the object-related fire protection aspects (including location, time, type of execution, type of use, number of users, height of the building, size of the floor area of the building, number of full stories, floor area, number of fire compartments and the number of necessary stairwells), which have also been approved (sample -see attachment),
• a list of persons who can provide information on the suitability of the applicant; the projects and the time during which the applicant has worked with these persons must be stated,

• Completion of a course of study at a German university in the field of architecture, structural engineering, civil engineering or a course of study with a focus on fire protection, or an equivalent course of study at a foreign university or at another equivalent foreign institution, or completion of training for at least the higher fire department level.
• Proof of at least five years of experience and above-average skills in the fire protection planning and execution of buildings, in particular of special buildings of various types with a higher degree of fire protection difficulty, or their examination
• Proof of the required knowledge in the field of fire prevention and fire protection systems, fire behavior and fire resistance of building products and types of construction and the relevant building regulations (provided as part of the recognition procedure by means of a certificate from the examination board).

The fees for the recognition procedure are 500 to 1000 €. Expenses of approximately 1500 to 2000 € are incurred for the activities of the examination board.

The application is possible at any time. The recognition procedures take place every 1.5 - 2 years.
