As a graduate in architecture, you must complete your practical work under the supervision of a professional in the field of architecture or the Thuringian Chamber of Architects.

Supervision takes the form of random checks on your work and performance. The supervising person / the Thuringian Chamber of Architects must ensure that you are taught the contents of § 1 Para. 3 No. 1 ThürAIKG during the practical activity.

If the professional internship is to be completed outside the Federal Republic of Germany, the supervising person or body must be notified in advance to the Thuringia Chamber of Architects and approved by it.

The professional internship completed in another Member State or in a country treated as such under European Union law may be recognized by the Thuringian Chamber of Architects under certain conditions. Practical professional activities completed in a third country may be taken into account.

You must notify the Chamber of Architects of Thuringia in advance of the start of the practical professional activity.

You must submit the following documents with your application:

• Proof of a degree in the field of architecture
• Proof of identity
• Proof of citizenship

As a rule, copies of all documents and certificates must be submitted. All documents and certificates must be translated into German by a publicly appointed or sworn interpreter or translator

There are no fees.

Upon receipt of your notification, the Registration Committee of the Chamber of Architects will check whether the requirements for entry in the list of architects in the field of architecture pursuant to Section 6 (2) sentence 1 no. 2 first alternative ThürAIKG are met; if the requirements are not met, the Chamber of Architects will indicate this in the confirmation pursuant to sentence 1.

The Chamber will confirm receipt of the notification within one month and inform you if the documents to be submitted are incomplete, which documents are still missing and need to be submitted.

No deadlines need to be observed.

The recognition and qualification advice centers of the "Integration through Qualification" network (IQ network) will be happy to advise and support you before, during and after the recognition procedure.
