The equalization supplement is regulated in many legal sources in EU, federal and state law and can be found in the application documents.

If you farm at least 3 ha in a less-favored area or specific area, you can apply for a compensatory allowance for less-favored and/or specific areas. However, you must achieve a minimum funding amount of EUR 300.00 per measure.

The compensatory allowance is a subsidy for agricultural enterprises that farm land in less-favored or specific areas or in parts of NATURA 2000 areas. It compensates for the loss of income and additional costs incurred by the companies through the agricultural use of these areas in order to counteract the economic disadvantages compared to land managers outside these three areas and to ensure the preservation of these areas for both agriculture and biodiversity. Approval is granted on the basis of the size of the area.

The PORTIA portal will inform you about the required application documents, which must be submitted online.

A formal geospatial application must be submitted online via the PORTIA portal.

There are no fees.

The equalization supplement is submitted in the form of a collective application with its attachments via the PORTIA online portal.

Registration in the portal is carried out using the eID of the ID card via the Thuringian service account.

Approval and payment are made at the end of the fourth quarter of the respective year.

The application deadline is May 15 of the respective year.
