If you are a craftsman or craftswoman from a member state of the EU, another contracting state of the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland and wish to carry out temporary work in Germany, you must notify the competent authority.
Nationals of a member state of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland without a commercial establishment in Germany who wish to temporarily and occasionally provide services in a craft listed in Annex A of the Crafts Code in Germany must notify the locally competent Chamber of Crafts in writing or electronically and submit the relevant documents before providing the service for the first time.
The Chamber of Skilled Crafts examines the documents and issues a confirmation of receipt stating whether the prerequisites are met or whether the professional qualification is being examined.

The notification must be submitted to the locally competent Chamber of Skilled Crafts prior to the first provision of services in Germany.
The Chamber of Skilled Crafts and Small Businesses must be notified immediately in writing or electronically of any changes affecting the prerequisites for the provision of services, and evidence of such changes must be provided in the form of appropriate documentation.
There is an obligation to repeat the notification annually if the further provision of services in Germany is intended. The subsequent notification must be made to the Chamber of Skilled Crafts where the initial notification was made.
