Nationals of the EU, another contracting state to the Agreement on the European Economic Area and Switzerland who do not maintain a commercial establishment in Germany may practice a craft subject to licensing in Germany.
Nationals of a member state of the EU, of another contracting state of the Agreement on the European Economic Area and of Switzerland who do not maintain a commercial establishment in Germany may, under certain conditions, occasionally and temporarily exercise in Germany a craft subject to licensing in Germany without verification of qualification and without registration with the Chamber of Crafts. The activity must be reported for verification of the prerequisites.
Anyone providing or exercising services in accordance with (Annex B1) continues to be subject to compulsory insurance.
- Documents proving legal establishment in the country of establishment (EU - certificate)
- Copy of identity card or passport
- EU certificate issued by the competent authority in the country of establishment, proving at least one year of professional experience, if neither the profession nor the education is regulated in the country of establishment.
- Certified copy of certificates of professional experience
- EC certificate 99/42 on the requirement of a professional qualification, on the state regulation of the training and on the type and duration of the professional activity carried out in the countries of origin
- copies of previous declarations
- if necessary, according to the circumstances of the individual case, further documents
The craft in question, which is subject to licensing and does not require a branch office in Germany, may be practiced temporarily and occasionally if you are
- are a national of a member state of the EU, the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland,
- do not have a commercial establishment in Germany, but have a legal establishment in a comparable profession in another member state of the EU, the EEA or Switzerland,
- wish to provide services in Germany on a temporary and occasional basis.
- If the other country of origin does not require a specific professional qualification for the training of the relevant activity and if you do not have any regulated training for these activities, the provision of services in Germany is only permissible if the activities in the other country of origin were actually and lawfully pursued as full employment for at least one year or as corresponding part-time employment and no longer than ten years ago.
In the crafts of chimney sweep, optician, hearing aid acoustician, orthopedic technician, orthopedic shoemaker and dental technician, the activity may only be taken up after notification by the Chamber of Crafts that no subsequent examination of the professional qualification has taken place or that a sufficient professional qualification has been established. In the other crafts listed in Annex A, the activity may be commenced immediately after notification and proof of the required documents (Section 8 (1) EU/EEA Crafts Ordinance).
Insofar as further provision of services in Germany is intended, the notification must be repeated informally on an annual basis.

Nationals of a member state of the EU, of another contracting state of the Agreement on the European Economic Area and of Switzerland who do not maintain a commercial establishment in Germany may, under certain conditions, occasionally and temporarily exercise a craft subject to licensing in Germany without verification of qualification and without registration with the Chamber of Crafts.

- Anyone providing or exercising services in accordance with (Annex B1) continues to be subject to compulsory insurance.
The Chamber of Crafts in whose district a service is to be provided for the first time is responsible.
