You can apply for a resident parking permit to park in a resident parking area.

As a resident, you can apply for a resident parking permit for your vehicle or a vehicle you use permanently. The resident parking permit is only valid for a specially designated zone (resident parking area).

Resident parking privileges are primarily marked with signs 286 or 290.1 StVO with additional sign "Residents with parking permit...free" or with signs 314/315 StVO with additional sign "Only residents with parking permit...".

The issue of a resident parking permit does not entitle the holder to a parking space.

Parking spaces reserved for severely disabled persons are excluded from the resident parking regulations.

Resident parking permits are issued on application.

• The applicant must be registered in the residents' parking area and actually live there - the registered secondary residence may suffice (the decision on this is made by the local authorities in accordance with the statutes).
• Each resident only receives one parking permit for one vehicle registered to them as the owner or which they can prove they use permanently.
• Only in justified individual cases can several license plates be entered in one parking permit or the entry "changing vehicles" be made.
• If the resident is a member of a Car-Sharing organization, their name will be entered in the license plate field of the parking permit. The resident parking privilege then only applies to the parking of a vehicle of this organization that is clearly recognizable from the outside (inscription, sticker on the vehicle).
