With BAföG, you can complete a school or university education regardless of your financial background.

If you are studying, training or doing an internship abroad, you can also apply for BAföG.

Funding for studies within the EU is possible until you graduate. If you are studying outside the EU, you can generally receive funding for one year. In exceptional cases, funding is also possible for 2.5 years.

Your tuition fees and travel expenses will also be taken into account in the calculation.

If you are not eligible for educational support in Germany due to your parents' financial circumstances, you can still apply for support abroad, as different rates apply.
