If you manufacture, handle, store, transport or place feed on the market, you must register your business and all associated business premises as a feed business.
According to EU law, every feed business operator must register all establishments under its control (every installation of a feed business) that are active in one of the production, processing, storage, transportation or distribution stages of feed. The notification must be made in writing or electronically in the form required by the competent authority.
Apart from the information on the application form, no other documents are required for registration.
Registration requires information on the company and its activities as per the application form.
Registration in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 183/2005 is free of charge.
You can apply for registration in writing or electronically. You complete the application and send it by e-mail or post to the competent feed monitoring authority. The competent feed monitoring authority will check your application and record your farm data.
Registration in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 183/2005 will only be confirmed on request. Registration in accordance with the Feedstuffs Regulation will be decided by official notification.

- the primary production of feed including transportation, storage and handling of primary products at the place of production as well as for transportation operations from the place of production to a farm
- the production, handling and placing on the market of feed (feed materials, compound feed, additives, premixtures)
- the transportation and storage of feed - in each case for third parties
- the import of feedstuffs
- all establishments under its control (each plant of a feed company)
- the application must be completed in full, signed and submitted in writing by e-mail or post to the competent authority
