Further documents may have to be provided after consultation with the competent authority.

• If you operate nationwide, the authority may require you to submit a valid accreditation confirming compliance with the requirements of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 relating to the parameters and test methods.
• Equivalent recognitions and certificates from another member state of the European Union or another state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area are possible if they show that comparable requirements are met.
• Identity card or passport with confirmation of registration
• Written informal application, including extract from the commercial register/trade register
• Declaration of exemption from any liability for the activities of the third-party inspector vis-à-vis the country in which he is active

You have the necessary expertise, independence, reliability and technical equipment and carry out quality assurance and quality control measures, including regular successful participation in interlaboratory comparisons.

You have submitted the application in the federal state in which you have your registered office. If this is abroad, you submit the application in the federal state in which you primarily wish to carry out the activity.

If the person wishes to be notified as a body that regularly carries out waste oil inspections in accordance with the Waste Oil Ordinance, an application is required. Proof must be provided that the applicant has the necessary expertise, independence, reliability and technical equipment. The notification may be subject to revocation, a time limit, conditions, requirements and the imposition of conditions.

You submit an informal application for designation as an inspection body for waste oil to the authority of the federal state in which you have your registered office. If your place of business is abroad, submit the application in the federal state in which you will primarily carry out the testing activities.

Proceed as follows:

• Create the informal application and attach the required documents. If necessary, the authority will request further application documents.
• If you wish to enclose equivalent recognitions and certificates from another member state of the European Union or another state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area with the application, these documents must be submitted before commencing the activity.
• The authority may request a certified German translation of foreign equivalent recognitions and certificates.
• After examination by the competent authority, you will receive a written decision as to whether you have been designated as an inspection body.
• The authority may attach a reservation of revocation, a time limit, conditions, requirements or the reservation of requirements to the designation.
• The notification is then made via the Research System for Measuring Bodies and Experts of the Federal States (ReSyMeSa).
