Health counseling is required for the practice of prostitution.

Since 2017, prostitutes have been required to register in person in addition to receiving health advice. In a confidential consultation and information session, prostitutes receive essential information on health protection. The consultation is confidential and must take place in person. No personal data is stored.

A certificate is issued confirming the health consultation, which must be presented to the registration authority as proof when registering and for renewals. On request, this can also be issued as an alias certificate.

The health consultation is a prerequisite for registering for prostitution with the authorities. The health certificate is issued immediately after the consultation. The official registration can then take place in a further information and consultation meeting.

If desired, the health consultation and registration can be carried out in a single appointment. The consultation can be held in German and English. Interpreters are available for other languages.
