You can register your place of business for the broadcasting fee online. This also applies to self-employed persons or freelancers.

The broadcasting fee secures the financing of ARD, ZDF and Deutschlandradio. With their programs, the broadcasters inform, educate and entertain many millions of people every day.
To support the public spirit, companies and institutions contribute to the financing of public broadcasting alongside citizens.
They pay the broadcasting contribution according to the number of their business premises, employees subject to social insurance contributions and motor vehicles subject to contributions.

The existence of a place of business or a motor vehicle liable for contributions must be reported immediately. Registration for the broadcasting fee begins in the month in which the permanent establishment or the contributory motor vehicle is held.

The amount of the broadcasting contribution and its due date are regulated by law. This means that you must pay the broadcasting fee even if you have not received a special payment request.

Online:

• Open the online portal "Ihr Rundfunkbeitrag."
• Click on the "Register company" field under Companies and institutions or enter the web code "UF02" in the search field, and the associated online form will open and guide you through the registration process step by step.

Postal:

• Access the PDF form linked below for new registration for companies, institutions, self-employed or freelancers.
• Fill out the PDF form, print it out and sign it. Then mail it to the Contribution Service of ARD, ZDF and Deutschlandradio.

Telephone:

• Call the Contribution Service telephone hotline and go through the document with a contact person.

• The registration must be made immediately after taking possession of the permanent establishment and/or the motor vehicles liable to pay contributions.

• Companies and institutions are required to register for the broadcasting contribution.
• The registration takes place at the contribution service of ARD, ZDF and Deutschlandradio.
