If you want to discharge commercial/industrial wastewater into a public wastewater system or sewer system, you usually need a permit. Until the permit is issued, the authority may allow you to discharge the wastewater beforehand.

If you wish to discharge wastewater into a public wastewater system, you must apply for a permit. If you cannot or do not want to wait until the permit is issued, the competent authority may permit an early start of the discharge. You must apply for this.

Approval is granted if

• an application for approval has already been submitted
• a decision in favor of the applicant can be expected,
• there is a public interest or a justified interest of the applicant in the premature commencement,
• and the applicant undertakes to compensate for all damage caused by the discharge until the decision is made and, if the discharge is not approved, to restore it to its former condition.

• They will examine your application and the justified personal or public interest in an early start of the wastewater discharge.
• You submit any requested documents.
• You agree to compensate for all damage caused by the discharge until the decision is made and, if the discharge is not approved, to restore it to its previous condition.
• The responsible agency approves the early start of the wastewater discharge.
• You will receive an approval notice from the competent body and, if applicable, a fee invoice.
• You pay the fee invoice, if applicable.
• You can start the premature discharge of wastewater into a public wastewater system.

The processing time depends on the quality and volume of the submitted applications, the submitted documents as well as on the procedure to be carried out and the processing status of the permit application.
