Municipalities can apply to the state for grants for individual projects of urban development significance. To do so, they must submit an application to the ministry.

After the applications have been submitted, the ministry checks whether the requirements for funding have been met and whether funds are available. If the requirements are all met and sufficient funds are available, the municipality receives a preliminary notice of approval from the State Funding Institute.

The municipality can then use this to claim the funds from the state development institute once it has completed the individual measures of the project.
